Philippines-based Travellers International Hotel Group has announced plans to expand its operations beyond Manila, developing integrated resorts in Cebu and Boracay , a major project aimed at boosting the country’s tourism and leisure industry and boosting the local economy.

Boracay World Resort: A Development That Adds to the Island’s Charm

Boracay World Resorts is a luxury resort combining Boracay’s natural beauty with modern resort facilities, and will be located in Alliance Global Group’s (AGI) 150-hectare Boracay Newcoast Township . The resort will feature premium hotel rooms, standalone villas, a golf course, and a private beach.

“Boracay World Resort will not just be a large-scale facility, but a premium experience that combines natural beauty with modern conveniences,” said Kevin Tan, President of Travelers International.

Development of Mactan World Resort in Cebu

In Cebu, Mactan World Resorts will be developed. Located within the 30-hectare Mactan Newtown township , it will feature state-of-the-art facilities including hotels, resorts, and casinos. The project is expected to commence commercial operations by the end of 2026.

Mactan World Resort is only 20 minutes from Cebu International Airport, making it easily accessible, and is expected to create 5,000 jobs , which will have a positive impact on the local economy of Cebu and neighboring cities.

Travellers' Expansion Strategy and Economic Impact

Travellers International's expansion is part of a strategy to explore new opportunities beyond the saturated Manila-centric market. Boracay and Cebu are the Philippines' tourism hubs, and resort development in these areas will contribute significantly to increasing tourist arrivals and boosting the economy.

AGI plans to develop the Philippines into a world-class resort destination through these projects and promote the growth of sustainable tourism. Furthermore, upon completion of these two resort developments, Travellers will be able to solidify its position in the leisure and entertainment industry in the Philippines.

Resort Development Features and Infrastructure Improvement Plans

Travellers International's new resorts in Boracay and Cebu will be developed with differentiated concepts that reflect each region's characteristics and tourism trends.

Boracay World Resorts is designed as a boutique-style resort in harmony with nature. The resort offers a luxurious vacation experience while protecting Boracay's ecosystem. The resort features eco-friendly infrastructure, solar power facilities and recycling systems. With a golf course, private beach, and fine dining restaurants, the resort targets both high-income travelers and families.

Development with a focus on environmental conservation and sustainability

Travellers International is focusing on sustainable development in this project. Boracay World Resort will prioritize the protection of the island’s environment, limiting the number of tourists and establishing nature reserves. It will also work with local communities to strengthen marine ecosystem restoration programs and waste management systems.

Mactan World Resorts in Cebu combines cutting-edge architectural design with sustainability principles. The resort plans to introduce eco-friendly transportation, electric vehicle charging stations , and green energy facilities.

Economic ripple effects and job creation

Travellers International anticipates that this project will contribute significantly to the local economy of Boracay and Cebu. Upon completion, over 5,000 jobs will be created in Cebu alone , with local employment being prioritized in various sectors within the resort.

In addition to the tourism industry, the development of commercial zones and amenities will also expand economic opportunities for local small business owners and suppliers. In particular, the Mactan Newtown township in Cebu is expected to grow into a mixed-use complex with high-end residential facilities, shopping malls, and cultural facilities for both local residents and tourists.

Marketing Strategies and Attracting Global Tourists

Travellers International will be aggressively marketing its resorts in Boracay and Cebu to promote them as premium destinations . They will work with the Philippine Department of Tourism to launch aggressive marketing campaigns in Southeast Asia, Europe, and North America . They will also secure more direct routes through partnerships with international airlines in time for the resort openings.

In particular, Mactan World Resort will include a luxury casino facility that will allow it to compete with casino resorts in Macau and Singapore . This is also in line with the strategy to position the Philippines as a casino hub in Southeast Asia.

Travellers International's Future Vision

This resort development in Boracay and Cebu is not only Travellers International’s first domestic expansion project, but also represents a revolutionary leap forward for the Philippine tourism industry . Travellers plans to build a model that achieves harmony between the environment and the economy through sustainable tourism.

Such integrated resort developments are likely to lead to additional resort developments and expansion of tourism infrastructure throughout the Philippines in the future. Travellers plans to continue to invest in the future to contribute to strengthening the Philippines as a global resort destination .

The resort developments taking place in Boracay and Cebu will bring about positive changes to the tourism industry and economy of the Philippines. If Travelers International’s vision and strategy are successfully realized, the Philippines is expected to become a more attractive tourist destination in Asia.
